Meet Our Special Citizens Pastor
Brother Nick Kelly was saved as a 21 year old boy at his home. The Lord had been dealing with him for a while and he knew he needed something that the world could not give him. A few years later he gave his whole life to the Lord at the NMBC Youth Rally and was called to preach a few months later during the NMBC Fall Camp Meeting.
From a young child God was preparing Bro. Nick to work with our special people. He was raised with an uncle who had Downs Syndrome and always had a special place in his heart for these extraordinary people. Bro. Nick has been our Special Citizens Pastor for over 7 years now. He married his wife Allyson in January of 2009 and they have two children: Ryder and Sawyer.
Special Citizens Ministry
Our Special Citizens Church is a ministry catering to adults who have special needs. This includes those with severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or behavioral problems.
The ministry is specifically designed, staffed and resourced to provide a wonderful, loving and caring atmosphere for these extraordinary people to learn about Jesus. They meet on Sunday morning at 10:00 for Sunday School and 10:45 for preaching.
We have three buses that provide transportation to and from church from the different homes and group homes across McDowell and Burke County. If you would like more information about this ministry please contact our church office.
